Office 365 Credentials Flow in MailBee Objects ActiveX v.9.4.1

Friday, 25 November 2022

Just like the recently released .NET version of MailBee components, ActiveX version is now also shipped with Office 365 OAuth 2.0 IMAP/POP3 sample which does not require end user's consent to access their mailbox (non-interactive case, also known as "Credentials Flow").

Once installed, you can find the corresponding sample and instructions in My Documents/MailBee Objects/Samples/OAuth2_VBScript folder.

Note that Office 365 only enabled OAuth 2.0 Credentials Flow for IMAP/POP3 but not for SMTP. SMTP still works the same old login/password way as before.

Other changes in this MailBee Objects release include:

  • SSL certificate validation logic rewritten, works faster and more reliably/correctly.
  • PLAIN and LOGIN authentication methods for IMAP (including delegated account access).
  • PLAIN authentication for SMTP now supports delegated account access (where account to send from and authenticating account are different).
  • Attachment.ContentDisposition property.

To update, uninstall the current version and install the new one from https://afterlogic.com/download/email-components

This update is compatible with the existing v9 keys. Still, you need to have a valid maintenance contract in order to upgrade. In case if your maintenance contract has already expired, you'll need to renew it first. This can be done at https://afterlogic.com/maintenance-renewal (or just drop us a message if your key is not recognized).
