WebMail Lite 8 Documentation

Password change for ISPConfig

This module allows users to change passwords on their email accounts in ISPConfig.

Installation

If you have installed WebMail Lite 8 from Git, you can follow the instructions for adding a module. If you've installed the product from ZIP, there's a simple approach available.

  • Navigate to module page at https://github.com/afterlogic/aurora-module-mail-change-password-ispconfig-plugin
  • Click "Clone or download" button to obtain ZIP archive of the module
  • under modules directory of WebMail Lite 8 installation, create MailChangePasswordIspconfigPlugin subdirectory
  • extract contents of aurora-module-mail-change-password-ispconfig-plugin-master directory of ZIP archive into subdirectory you've created
  • under Database Settings screen of admin interface, press "Update configuration" button

Configuration

After installing the module, you should find its configuration file at data/settings/modules/MailChangePasswordIspconfigPlugin.config.json:

{
    "Disabled": [
        false,
        "bool"
    ],
    "SupportedServers": [
        [
            "*"
        ],
        "array"
    ],
    "DbUser": [
        "root",
        "string"
    ],
    "DbPass": [
        "",
        "string"
    ],
    "DbName": [
        "dbispconfig",
        "string"
    ],
    "DbHost": [
        "localhost",
        "string"
    ]
}

NB: In the above configuration, you need to supply MySQL credentials used by ISPConfig itself, not by your WebMail Lite 8 installation. It's the same credentials supplied when installing ISPConfig, and dbispconfig is the default database name used. Of course, you will need to adjust those settings according to your LDAP server setup.

For SupportedServers, you need to supply array of mailserver hostnames or IP addresses the feature is enabled for. If you put "*" item there, it means the feature is enabled for all accounts.

To make sure "Change Password" button is displayed, set Disabled to false in data/settings/modules/ChangePasswordWebclient.config.json configuration file.
